Stream of Consciousness (The NFL on REO)

I am on drugs. I am sorry. (604 words)

I’m all hopped-up on pain meds so you will have to excuse this week’s installment. At least you are getting one, as I came this close to not writing anything.

I had my gallbladder removed on Friday and I am still in the recovery phase. I have to eat bland food for a bit and rest and take it easy. And I have to take the aforementioned pain meds. They are nice pain meds. They make me feel warm and fuzzy. Mostly fuzzy. But with less pain. So it’s a good fuzzy. The surgery went well and my recovery seems to be going well also. I thought about ending that sentence with another “as well” but quickly realized that was a bad idea. But I can’t really trust my judgment since I am currently on drugs so maybe it wouldn’t have been a bad idea.

Frankly, I don’t care. Moving on.

Titans Tuesday: “It was the best of times. It was the worst of times.”

We saw the best and the worst the 2016 Tennessee Titans have to offer. What does it all mean?

The Tennessee Titans’ loss to the San Diego Chargers was a microcosm of the 2016 Titans’ season. There was a lot of good. There was a little more bad. As I have said many times before, the Tennessee Titans are a team that is playing with very little margin for error. Unfortunately, they do not seem to be capable of playing mistake-free football in consecutive games.

The Number One Titans’ recap on Rambling Ever On is back!

As I watched the Tennessee Titans play their second preseason game, I found myself jumping back and forth between optimism and pessimism. Between hope and despair. Certain players looked great, and certain players didn’t. Certain positions groups looked regular-season read, and certain position groups looked ready for the cut list. I figured I might as well share my thoughts with my 37 loyal readers. Let’s start on a high note. (To facilitate easy comprehension, I’ve included cutting-edge images to communicate my feelings for each entry.)

Titans Tuesday: Exotic Smashmouth

We recap the first preseason game of the year for the Tennessee Titans.

When Mike Mularkey was hired as the head coach of the Tennessee Titans earlier this year, he described the kind of team he was going to build: Physical. Tough. Smart. He also used a phrase to describe the offensive philosophy and system the team would be implementing going forward: Exotic Smashmouth. What did he mean by that? Simply put, the Titans are going to be a run heavy team with a healthy splash of creative play calling that will highlight their talented and physically impressive rookie QB, Marcus Mariota. It’s a throwback system and philosophy with a new paint job and a few new wrinkles.

Titans Tuesday: “It’s the most wonderful time of the year!”

Are you ready for some football?

Training Camp is here. That means, in less than two weeks, the Titans will play in their first preseason game against the San Diego Chargers. And a month after that, on September 11, the Titans will play their first regular season game of the 2016 NFL season against the Minnesota Vikings.

Right now, at this very minute, there are 32 NFL teams with hope. Even the Browns. Every NFL season brings with it a renewed confidence, excitement and optimism. For the majority of teams in the NFL, those feelings will be thoroughly and violently crushed in a matter of months. But right now, everyone is dreaming big.
