Welcome to the new and improved Titans Tuesday. From this point on, these articles are going to be quick and easy little numbers and will be spotlighted on the sidebar of the website. I took last week off because I was on vacation and unable to watch the game. I’ll sum it up: The Titans lost because they turned the ball over too much. That seems to be a common theme with this team.
However, this past Sunday gave us a much better result.
We finally were able to see what the Exotic Smashmouth offense should look like. The Titans faced a bad Dolphins team in Miami and completely controlled the game, on both sides of the ball. This just in: the Titans offensive line is really good. It’s amazing what a new O-Line coach and few new players can do. It also doesn’t hurt that Taylor Lewan is playing at a Pro-Bowl level so far this season. He might be the best left tackle in the NFL through five weeks. Lewan is not the only Pro Bowler on this offense. DeMarco Murray continues to perform at a level that probably even surprises the Titans. He is on pace for over 2,000 yards from scrimmage. The Titans have one of the best running attacks in the league. That’s their bread and butter. If they keep that up, they will be competitive in most games.
Other things to like about the 30-17 win over the Dolphins:
Marcus Mariota
He ran more and he protected the football.
The defensive line
They applied constant pressure and tallied six sacks.
Delanie Walker
He is one of the most underrated players in the NFL.
Beating a team they were supposed to beat
The Titans have struggled with this in previous seasons. They were the better team on Sunday and it showed from beginning to end.
What’s next?
The Tennessee Titans began a three game home stand this Sunday against the Cleveland Browns. They also face Jacksonville and Indy in that stretch. This team needs to take advantage of the schedule as these are three winnable games. Three opportunities to begin rebuilding trust for their fans. They have not won back-to-back games since 2013. They need to put that stat out of its misery. I think the games this season prove that this team is much better than they have been the previous two seasons. They are not getting blown out. They are competitive and hard-working. Their margin for error is still pretty slim, but if they avoid the self-inflicted wounds, they can play with the majority of teams in the NFL.
What do you guys think?

I think our run game can be the best in the NFL. We got the line and two good backs. As long as our QB can pick up first downs when necessary and not turn it over (like yesterday) we can play against anyone.
Agreed.
This is such a good stretch. I didn’t realize they had Cleveland and Jax coming up. Man I hope those are sure wins.
Absolutely. This team and city need a winning streak at home.
